2010 Joseph Drouhin Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche 1.5L

A Burgundy lovers' heart will always skip a beat at the mere mention of 'Montrachet,' but add in 'Marquis de Laguiche' and it becomes a whole new ball game. Marquis de Laguiche is one of the oldest and most prestigious families in France. The Marquis has owned the largest area of Le Montrachet in Puligny since 1363, and Drouhin has been in charge of the vineyard and the vinification here since 1947. As fully expected, this monumental Montrachet set pulses racing even before we got the cork out.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "Vibrant layers of exotic fruit, smoke, spices, honey and licorice flesh out in the 2010 Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche. Simply put, the 2010 is rich, dense and strikingly beautiful from the very first taste. There is a deep sensuality and allure about the 2010 that is simply compelling. This is another fabulous showing from Drouhin."

Veronique Boss-Drouhin - "An authentic masterpiece! This wine should be regarded as the yardstick by which all other Burgundies should be judged. The colour has a splendid golden sheen. On the nose, a multitude of aromas are a pleasure to discover: floral notes of lily of the valley, peach blossom, exotic fruit, honey, grilled almonds, even exotic woods at times. On the palate, the structure is dominated by a harmonious roundness which never imparts any heaviness. The aftertaste is exceptionally long and enhances the finesse of the whole. A glorious symphony of sensations."
